Denis:
In Piwakawaka syndicate we have been learning Taekwon-do. On Monday we went to taekwon-do and had our first session, we had to take our socks and shoes off, it shows a token of respect. Our focus was Curtsy for Monday. They taught us the snap kick, the snap kick is when you bring your knee up and snap your leg out at the opposition, you have to remember to pull your toes back other wise you could break them. We also learnt how to punch high, low, and in the middle. I found teakwon-do quite easy. When we did not say YES MAM! or YES SIR!, we would have to do five sit ups. The taekwon-do masters would count in Korean to five. It was really cool and interesting.

On Monday Piwakawaka had our first taekwon-do session we all had to take off all of our shoes and socks we all had to leave our shoes out side. After that we all had to get back in our lines and wait for the call. When we got the call we all walked into to hall all silently for respect to our Taekwon-do teachers when we had got into the hall they put us into boys and girls lines. When we got into our lines they thought us about the Taekwon-do masters and the history of it .they thought us how to say !YES MAM!!!! if we did not say it we would have to do five sit ups we learnt how to do punching and the snap kick .The Taewon-do sport originated from Korean.

On Monday and Thursday for the next 3 weeks the whole school is learning how to do Taekwon-do. 3 people are coming to our school to teach us how to do Taekwon-do. They teach us how to defend whos fighting us and learn how to strike them in there weak spot. They gave us information like who created Taekwon-do and where its from. If you are wondering where Taekwon-do came from it comes from North Korea and Choi Hong Hi created Taekwon-do when he was in the Military to fight other people. In North Korea Taekwon-Do is the national sport. I'm looking forward to the air kicks and the high punch. Taekwon-do is a sport all around the world and people enjoy it alot there are lots of clubs where they do Taekwon-do. Most Korean people do Taekwon-do thats why they won alot of medals in the 2012 London Olympics and they are pros. From what they said you need years of practise to be a professional.
