Elissa and Breanne's Helping Hands Day

Blog Post

Refugee Visit

On the 26 of June 2012 all the people from Piwakawaka syndicate split up in to three groups to help the environment. We are writing about how we helped out the refugees and letting them have a nicer stay in Wellington.

How did we help?

Well, we helped by doing chores around where the refugees were staying. We... picked up rubbish from the ground, cleaned windows and gave canned food for them. The reason we help them is because they might of had a rough time in their country and so we are tring to welcome them as much as we can to help them have a better stay in Wellington.

As you can hopefully see we have had a great time helping them even though doing chores is not the most pleasant thing to do. Well, at lest we felt good after wards. So we do hope that every one can help them by donating or even doing chores around where they are staying(like we did). We also hope you have also learned a thing or to of what refugees are or what they have been through.
