Helping Hands!

On the 26th of June 2012, a few Piwakawaka syndicate students went on a trip to Cannon's Creek to meet and help out some Refugees families. We were transported by some fantastic parent helpers to the refugee's location, there we regrouped with Miss King and we started our day's work.

Firstly we had to split into pairs with one rubbish bag and one glove each, and sent to pick up rubbish. As we walked down the street with our partners and rubbish bags, we came across rubbish such as glass bottles, lolly wrappers, pieces of clothing and many more items. Our next job was to spilt into groups of five and we were sent to a refugee's home,to clean the backyard and the windows. Our super cleaning group was made out of Giselle,Chanel,Esme,Elissa and me Sydney-may.We were placed with Colombian woman called Yolanda. While we were cleaning Yolanda's backyard two newspaper photographer's came and took pictures of us while we were cleaning up,as a present Miss King gave us a beautiful pink flower to give to Yolanda she looked very happy.
